Du Caifen, a laid-off worker of the Fuwu Lane Community in Qinhuangdao's
Haigang District, was speedily knitting Chinese knots for customers from
Beijing and foreign countries with her laid-off sisters on Jan. 18th. Du
started to engage herself in knitting Chinese knots in 2000, and through
her efforts in nearly six years, Chinese knots produced in Qinghuangdao
have become popular in Beijing and foreign markets.
